The State of Online Sales
Shop.org reports that despite a slowing economy online retail sales continue to grow. They predict that online retail sales will grow by 6% in 2008.
In 2007 apparel made up 10% of all online, retail sales. In 2008 they predict that figure will be 12%.

Besides sales predictions for 2008 it describe the marketing methods most used and how they are carried out. We can learn a lot of lessons from large companies that have the ability to research which methods of promotion work the best.

The reason why buying online is becoming more and more popular is that you can find a lot of things cheaper, even with factoring in shipping. Plus, there are lots of comparison sites as well as sites that offer cashback (microsofts live search). I know because I have converted to buying a lot of things online :)
